Til Taila (Sesamum indicum)- 63.17%

Processed in the decoction of :

Rakt Chandan (Pterocarpus santalinus)-00.75%, Laksha (Schleichera oleosa)-00.75%, Majith (Rubia cordifolia)   00.75%, Mulethi (Glycyrrhiza glabra)-00.75%, Cow's milk-33.33%, Enriched with Kesar (Crocus sativus)-00.05%.


  1. Calculate the quantity of the drugs mentioned under KUMKUMADI TAILA in AFI-I (8:8) and as per master formulary record of the pharmacy for the required batch and quantity.
  2. Accurately weigh the tested drugs from the raw material store.Clean them and then pass through 20 and 30 mesh to discard foreign materials.Again weigh the drugs and adjust their weight loss according to master formula.
  3. Clean the Pulveriser as per SCP (Standard Cleaning Procedure).
  4. Coarsely powder the drugs of the above mentioned Yog.
  5. Coarsely powdered drugs were immersed in the water in an iron vessel and boiled according to kasaya nirman vidhi. When the kasaya is prepared, it is then filtered through the muslin cloth and kept aside.
  6. The required quantity of til taila as prescribed in the Yog was then taken in an iron vessel and heated up properly.
  7. The above mentioned kasaya is then poured into the heated til taila and boiled again, while boiling Godugdha mentioned in the Yog is also poured into the til taila till the whole of the kasaya is evaporated. During the process continuous stirring of the above liquid is done.
  8. After the evaporation of the kasaya the remaining til taila is shifted to another iron vessel which is already cleaned and allowed to cool.
  9. Kesar (Saffron) mentioned in the Yog is then pounded well and mixed in the til taila and continuous stirring is done so as to mix the kesar in the til taila. It is then allowed to settle for atleast 24 hours. After which it is filtered again through a muslin cloth.
  10. Withdrew the sample for testing and after test release the batch for filling, filter the clear upper portion of the liquid and reject the lower small portion of the liquid.
  11. Seal and label the taila in well cleaned bottles as per GMP mentioned in D & C Act 1940 and the rules made there under.
