METHOD OF PREPARATION  :- Calculate the quantity of the drugs mentioned under KUMARYASAVA in AFI-I (1:12 & 1:13) and as per master formulary record of the pharmacy  for the required batch and quantity. Accurately weigh the tested drugs from the raw material store, clean them and then pass through 20 and 30 mesh to discard foreign materials.Now again weigh the drugs and adjust their weight loss according to master formula. Clean the Pulveriser as per SCP (Standard Cleaning Procedure). Coarsely powder the drugs of above mentioned Yog. Clean the wooden fermentor with hot and cold water repeatedly 5 to 6 times with nylon brush and proceed as per SCP & tag it with its status. The required quantity of water to which sugar/jaggery as prescribed in the formula is added, boiled and cooled. The above mentioned water is then filtered and poured into the fermentation pot. Fine powder of the drugs already prepared by coarsely grinding them as mentioned in the formula are added in the fermentor. The container is then covered with a lid and the edges are sealed with clay-smeared cloth wound in seven consecutive layers. Maintain the room temperature from 25°C to 40°C for few days (Minimum 40 days or till the fermentation is completed). After completion of the fermentation, the lid is opened carefully and the sample for testing were withdrawn and after testing the batch, the whole liquid is again filtered, rejecting the lower 10 liters of the liquid. Seal and label the liquid in well cleaned bottles as per  GMP  mentioned  in D & C Act 1940 and the rules made there under. Coarsely powder the drugs and pass all the drugs through shifter.Boil the drugs and filter through muslin cloth. Clean the wooden fermentor with hot and cold water repeatedly 5 to 6 times with nylon brush and proceed as per SCP & tag it with its status. Filterate is then kept in the fermentor as per formulation. The remaining drugs are then powdered very finely and added to fermentor as per text. Maintain the room temperature from 25°C to 40°C for few days (minimum 40 days or till the fermentation process is completed). Take  a sample for testing and after testing the batch for filling , filter the clear upper portion of the liquid and reject  the lower 10 litre of the liquid. Clean  the pulveriser as per SCP (Standard Cleansing Procedure). Coarsely powder  the drugs mentioned in the Yog and sieve them from the Sieve  No.100 which should be cleaned as per their SCP (Standard Cleansing Procedure). Coarsely powdered drugs are immersed into the water in an iron vessel and boiled according to the kasayn nirman vidhi. When the kasaya is prepared, it is then filtered through the muslin cloth. Added required quantity of sugar, citric acid in the kasaya and it is again boiled till the required concentration for the syrup is achieved. Extracts of various drugs mentioned in the Yog are then properly sieved and poured into the syrup. After which it is allowed to cool and filtered again through a muslin cloth. Permitted Class II preservatives and permitted synthetic food colours and flavours are then added on cooling of the above syrup. Clean the Pulveriser as per SCP (Standard Cleaning Procedure). Coarsely powder the drugs of the above mentioned Yog. Coarsely powder drugs were immersed in the water in an iron vessel and boiled according to kasaya nirman vidhi. When the kasaya is prepared, it is then filtered through the muslin cloth and kept aside. The required quantity of til taila as prescribed in the Yog was then taken in an iron vessel and heated up properly. The above mentioned kasaya is then poured into the heated til taila and boiled again till the whole of the kasaya is evaporated. During the process continuous stirring of the above liquid is done. After the evaporation of the kasaya the remaining til taila is shifted to another iron vessel which is already cleaned and allowed to cool. NAME OF MEDICINE  :- Draksharishta  CLASSICAL REFRENCE  :- Sharangadharsamhita-Rogadhikar FORMULATION COMPOSITION  :- Draksha (Vitis vinifera)-1 part, Water for decoction-Q.S. (as per text reference), Reduced to-Q.S. (as per text reference), Guda (Jaggery)-3.46parts, Dalchini (Cinnamum zeylanicum), Sukshamaila (Elettaria cardamum), Tej patra (Cinamum inners), Nagkeshar (Mesua ferrea), Priyangu (Callicarpa macrophylla), Marich (Piper nigrum), Pippali (Piper longum), Vidanga (Embelia ribes)-0.02 parts (each of the above ingredients), Dhataki (Woodfordia fruticosa)-0.05 parts. Prepared and retained as per Asava-Arishta nirmana vidhi. METHOD OF PREPARATION  :- Calculate the quantity of the drugs mentioned under DRAKSHARISHTA in AFI-I (1:20) and as per master formulary record of the pharmacy for the required batch and quantity. Accurately weigh the tested drugs from the raw material store, clean them and then pass through 20 and 30 mesh to discard foreign materials.Now again weigh the drugs and adjust their weight loss according to master formula. Clean the Pulveriser as per SCP (Standard Cleaning Procedure). Coarsely powder the drugs of the above mentioned Yog. Clean the wooden fermentor with hot and cold water repeatedly 5 to 6 times with nylon brush and proceed as per SCP & tag it with its status. The required quantity of water is taken in an iron vessel and fresh decoction of Draksha is prepared as prescribed in the formula. The decoction is then filtered and poured into another iron vessel and the required quantity of sugar/jaggery is then added in the decoction and allowed to cool. On cooling it is again filtered through the muslin cloth and the filtrate is shifted to the wooden fermentor. Fine powder of the drugs already prepared by coarsely grinding as mentioned in the formula, are added in the fermentor and the container is then covered with a lid tightly. Maintain the room temperature from 25°C to 40°C for few days (minimum 40 days or till the fermentation process is completed). Take  a sample for testing and after testing the batch for filling  ,filter the clear upper portion of the liquid rejecting the lower 10 litre of the liquid.
